Self-Affine Sets with Positive Lebesgue Measure

Using techniques introduced by C. Güntürk, we prove that the attractors of a family of overlapping self-affine iterated function systems contain a neighbourhood of zero for all parameters in a certain range. This corresponds to giving conditions under which a single sequence may serve as a ‘simultaneous β-expansion’ of different numbers in different bases.

Statistically Self - Similar Fractal Sets

In the present paper we define statistically self-similar sets, and, using a modification of method described in [2], [3], find a Hausdorff dimension of a statistically self-similar set.

Computability of Self-Similar Sets

We investigate computability of a self-similar set on a Euclidean space. A nonempty compact subset of a Euclidean space is called a self-similar set if it equals to the union of the images of itself by some set of contractions. The main result in this paper is that if all of the contractions are computable, then the self-similar is a recursive compact set. A further result on the case that the ...

Self-similar and self-affine sets; measure of the intersection of two copies

Let K ⊂ R be a self-similar or self-affine set, let μ be a self-similar or self-affine measure on it, and let G be the group of affine maps, similitudes, isometries or translations of R. Under various assumptions (such as separation conditions or we assume that the transformations are small perturbations or that K is a so called Sierpiński sponge) we prove theorems of the following types, which...

On the cardinality and complexity of the set of codings for self-similar sets with positive Lebesgue measure

Let λ1, . . . , λn be real numbers in (0, 1) and p1, . . . , pn be points in R . Consider the collection of maps fj : R d → R given by fj(x) = λjx+ (1− λj)pj . It is a well known result that there exists a unique nonempty compact set Λ ⊂ R satisfying Λ = ∪j=1fj(Λ). Each x ∈ Λ has at least one coding, that is a sequence (ǫi) ∞ i=1 ∈ {1, . . . , n} N that satisfies limN→∞ fǫ1 · · · fǫN (0) = x. W...
